We met in June 2006...
Actually one of his friends came up to me at a bar... I was there with a friend (guy) who saw a girl he started to go talk to her, I didn't care... so the hubbys friend came up to me and starting talking to me first checking if that guy was my boyfriend, the hubby was there talking to another girl and didn't even see me!! So his friend walked me to my car (with my guy friend- I was safe!) and kissed me good night and we switched numbers.
So we hung out one night, since I found out my apartment was literally right up the street from the base!! The first night his friend and I hung out and introduced me to a few guys in the barracks, one being the hubs (who was ignoring me and kept playing his video game- awesome I know)!
Finally one night while hanging with his friend he joined us and we all had a good time drinking and hanging out (like 4 other guys joined, all trying to get my attention- only girl and they just got back from the field)... so the hubby and I started texting and talking... then one night he came over after work and we sat up till 5am just talking!! it was amazing honestly he didnt try anything we just sat and talked about everything!
from that point on we started dating and 3 short months later (ya I know I am crazy) but when you know you know, we got married!
August 2006 during lunch time for both of us we met up and headed to the courthouse! so romantic I know you are so jealous, heheh!!
We didn't tell our families or friends right away because people would think we were crazy and then he deployed a few short months later for the first of many we would have to survive together (no we did not marry cause he was deploying we didn't even know, he found out literally a month later)
We plan to one day have a huge party with our families and friends, probably after this deployment and the training for Special Forces... most likely it will be a house warming/renewing vows celebration!!
Everyday is a challenage, probably a little more then most couples who are dating for years before getting married but we knew we loves each other and we were meant to be! there may be ups and downs but that is part of life and the military just makes it so much more fun and complicated!!
