Born and raised in Michigan. a soldier in the army for 6 years now and plans to be a lifer, and I am 100% supportive of this!!
He went to Korea (before we met) after bootcamp then was sent to the Old Guard in Alrington, VA (where we met)... while there he was sent to Africa what was suppose to be for a year ended up 15 months! He reenlisted for five more years over there (ya for bonus!!) and we decided together we wanted to go to Hawaii... he warned me he would deploy in December which was 5 short months after he just got back, i felt ok with this or so I thought. literally a week before he deployed (nov 25th) I found out we were having our first child :) excited but freaking out we survived the deployment and he missed the birth by a week (her story is next)!!
SO we got married August 6, 2006, he deployed march 2007- june 2008, december 2008- october 2009, and preparing for another one in 2011!
He went to sgt school in November (even though he had been an E-5 for over a year) then E-6 school March, then in April he went to special forces first phase of training (25 days on no communication!!) He got selected but put the second phase on hold for another deployment (so we can get out of debt!)
He loves his job and works very hard at it! He tries to do too much sometimes in my opinion and misses out spending time with me and our monkey but hopefully it will pay off one of these days!
